Hi Friends and Backers!

I hope after reading The Opportunity, you're tuning out your doubts and working earnestly toward making your dreams come true! And if there's any way you think I can help you—like if you're an author—I want to help!

In the spirit of helping make dreams come true, I wanted to let you know about an imaginative new children's book on Kickstarter, called Princess Pirates—written by sister-in-law, D.K. Ackerman. Like The Opportunity, this book has great underlying messages, though unlike The Opportunity, this book is really ideal for younger children, especially kids 3-8 years old, I'd say.

Besides being a fun adventure story about daring, creative girls working together, Princess Pirates'  underlying message is that dated gender stereotypes shouldn't limit girls' imagination and ambitions. It makes a great gift for daughters, nieces, granddaughters and their friends! (I bought 10 so I can give them to my daughter's friends at birthday parties.) And if you want to make sure the boys in your life know girls can do anything, too—they'll also enjoy it!

On top of all that, my sister-in law wrote it, and when you support this project you not only help her dream come true, you also support self-publishing authors who create high-quality books with great messages!

I've done nothing but ship this week. Of the 506 backers who have filled out their survey, 436 have had their orders shipped. More will go out tomorrow!

I apologize that the fulfillment program I'm using has not been very good at getting surveys emails out. Thank you for those who followed up with me and requested I re-send them the survey.

The Opportunity has arrived and the first 270 shipments went out today. 

Thank you for your patience as I fulfill the other orders. Remember that I cannot fulfill your order if you have not provided an address through the survey. As of this update, there are still 180 of you who have not filled out the survey. I realize this may not be your fault. It seems like 1 in 3 did not receive the survey the first time it was sent to everyone (even though BackerKit says the survey was sent to everyone). If you did not receive it, please let me know and I will re-send it. After I have re-sent it, if you still don't receive it, message me with a good email address and I will send it there. 

I cannot thank you enough for helping my dream come true. It is so exciting to see how the book is already spreading. I can't wait to hear what you think of it and what action it inspires you to take!

Surveys and possibly delays

1. Surveys have been sent to you!

• Fill them out so you can receive your rewards!
• You can also buy additional books, prints, etc. if you want, and anything you add to your order will ship for FREE. 

2. Possible delays in shipping.

• Due to recent developments with trading with China (where my books were printed) causing an increase in shipments from there, the books arrival to me may be delayed up to an additional 5 days. (Again, possibly even more if they are selected for inspection, but that is only a 10% chance, so let's all hope that doesn't happen.) 
• So right now, while it's possible I could receive them tomorrow or Wednesday as originally expected, it is more likely that it will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday or even early next week.
